Match report Ladies Day at the Copdock Oval proved to be very successful with resounding victories over Maldon and I.E.S.
After eventually removing numerous small (and some slightly larger)people in pyjamas from the outfield Maldon won the toss and decided to bat, early wickets from the opening pair of Quinton and Cousins set the tone, most notably Cousins removal of the dangerous Dack for only 8 runs. Anna Hamblin returned to the team with her leg spin disposing of 2 more Maldon batters this included a sharp catch close in from Mayhew. Maldon settled briefly until Kelly and Davis (G) tied up the last 8 overs, Georgia returning figures of 4,4,0,3. Maldon closed their innings on 81-7.
Locke and Kelly took the attack to their Essex rivals and never looked in any real danger with Olivia unbeaten on 43 and Elske on 26. A solid performance from the whole team, in a game played in good spirt by both sides. An hour later a slightly depleted side took to the field against I.E.S.
