History of Women's Cricket at Copdock & OI CC

Women’s cricket was established at Copdock & OI CC in 2007. Since then the girls and ladies teams have enjoyed much success, the highlight of which was winning the T20 league in 2014, 2016 & 2021. Since women's cricket was established at Copdock & OI CC the numbers have continued to grow year on year and we are now one of the leading clubs in Suffolk for women's cricket.

What cricket is on offer at Copdock & OI CC?

Copdock & OI CC Ladies have 3 different formats to suit both experienced and inexperienced cricketers. With 3 hardball sides, experienced players you can play both T20 cricket in the Two Counties Cricket T20 Leagues and 35 over cricket in the Women's East Anglian Premier League.

If you are new to cricket you can play soft ball cricket. Softball festivals are run in evenings after work and a fantastic introduction to cricket whilst also being great social events.

However, these are not exclusive and you can choose which format you would like to play.

Training

The women's sides have the sole use of the ground and net facilities on Tuesday evenings for practice. This is important as we already have a large number of women and girls with the numbers continually growing, it gives everybody the best chance to practice and improve their own game. Training is taken by highly qualified coaches who have a great understanding of the game, along with the knowledge to help everyone improve.

For 2022, training will be delivered by former county professionals Matt Hunn (Suffolk & Kent) and Sam Arthurton (Norfolk & Essex).
