The Keith Cracknell Foundation
Introduction
The Keith
Cracknell Foundation has been set up in conjunction with Copdock and Old
Ipswichian Cricket Club and Keith Cracknell’s family. The Foundation will have three
trustees, Hazel Cracknell and Tracey Cracknell
representing the Cracknell family and Martin Taylor representing the Club.
The aim of the Foundation is to provide "bursary type support" to any member in need of financial assistance by
means of a grant. The Foundation aims to help members in ‘need’ of
assistance with requests for members’ fees, training fees, equipment and
clothing all being considered.
About Keith
Keith had an
incredible passion for cricket throughout his lifetime. He also loved to
support youngsters playing cricket and watching their development in the game.
In recent years he became Chairman of Copdock and Old Ipswichian Cricket Club,
a position he was very proud to hold. Keith was always available to support, encourage and give advice. Most
importantly Keith gave his time freely where he could to support the teams and
the club.
When the family
were first approached about setting the up the Keith Cracknell Foundation they felt that this was something which represented Keith’s values and principles.
It also provides a lasting legacy in Keith’s memory while supporting the club
and its members. This is something the family believe Keith would have been
very proud of. The Cracknell family are keen to support the Foundation and will
actively participate in fundraising activities.
The Keith Cracknell Foundation Objective
To provide grants to support people in "need" that would benefit from financial assistance. The Foundation defines "need" as "without this support the individual would not be able to take part, or that the cost to do so would present significant hardship to the family".
The Keith Cracknell Foundation Values
To provide a lasting legacy for a man who made such a significant contribution to community sport.
To reflect the values by which he lived his life.
To make a difference to the lives of people through cricket.
