Match report I.E.S. having just been leapfrogged in the table by Copdock looked to regain their position by winning the toss and inserting the Copdock Ladies on a typical Martin road of a track. Despite the early losses of Cousins and Quinton, Georgia Davis and Catherine Whittle feasted on the IES attack with Davis completing her 50 on the stroke of drinks. After the refreshments she picked up where she left off with a huge six on her way to a quick-fire 80, Catherine proved the perfect foil, rotating the strike and putting away any loose deliveries. Wickets tumbled in the last 3 overs as Copdock pushed for the extra batting point with Whittle the most unfortunate to be run out on 45. Copdock Ladies 171-6.
Beth and Annis were determined to make amends for their early dismissals and they did just that by taking 3 early wickets and restrict the run rate leaving IES with an almost impossible target from the remaining overs, Alice Merry making her long awaited comeback after injury chipped in with 2 wickets of her own, Holly followed up with a successful LBW shout and IES completed their 20 overs 85 runs short of Copdock’s total I.E.S. 86-6.
