Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 22 runs

Match report Copdock Tigers completed a comprehensive victory over a depleted Hadleigh team.

Hadleigh batting first were restricted to 64-4 due to some tight bowling and excellent fielding. Francesca with a wicket and direct hit run out to her name was backed by a much improved bowling unit, Emma Jay grabbing an important wicket in her best performance during her time at the club, conceding only a measly two runs from her two overs.

Chasing down this score, the Tigers lost Zinnia in the first over but recovered very quickly and when Captain Catherine Whittle retired on 24, Copdock were only 14 runs short of their target. The remaining girls batted in pairs each retiring after a few overs to allow all the girls to bat, and the win was sealed with 5 overs to spare.

As ever the welcome and hospitality shown by our hosts was second to none. Hopefully we can show East Bergholt the same hospitality off the pitch on Thursday week, whilst maintaining our unbeaten run on the pitch.
