Winning the toss Battisford decided to bat on a fine surface, with just the wind to contend with our bowlers set about a clinical display of fine bowling that saw the opposition reduced to 94 of the full 20 over’s.
A fine spell of bowling saw Jamie narrowly miss out on a deserved hat trick that included a super catch behind the stumps from Will. In all the bowling was accurate and Battisford were contained with no batsman offering any real resistance. Losing 8 wickets and scoring 94 the innings came to a close.
With a re-arranged batting line up Chris Wildig and Will set about chasing the Battisford total and added steady runs before Chris fell victim to a dubious LBW decision. Making his first appearance this season Luke batted consistently to score an unbeaten 31 before retiring and Poor Will falling 1 short of another maximum score, bowled for 29.
Chris Baron and Callum came to the crease and Chris hooked wildly and subsequently caught behind for 2 and Callum chasing an elusive 10 to secure that new bat fell to a superb catch in the field for 2.
Brandon and Jamie were left to wrap up the game with Brandon scoring 1 in a supporting role and Jamie steering the side home unbeaten on 10.
In the 16th over Copdock had reached the run chase total of 95 closing on 96 of 15.1 over’s, a victory by 6 wickets.
This was a polished performance that secured the 6th straight victory of an unbeaten season and set up a confident mood prior to Thursday’s Suffolk Cup semi final at home to Woolpit.
