Match report After a soggy start the first eleven and travelled to Saffron Walden and came away with a crucial win that moves them to second place in the table.

In the absence of James, Rashy took the reigns for the first time and after about an hour and a half delay called correctly and the crusaders were in the field for a reduced 44/39 overs split.

Hugh Thomas stepped up to takes Noses spot with the new ball and more than adequately filled his shoes with a superb spell into the wind. Hugh's 15 overs and 3 wickets were full of hustle and bustle and showed exactly the kind of spirit we want. Saffron walden made 187 for 9 largely thanks to a quick fire 90 from their number 5 however the two spinners in Pidge and Eek (returning to the side for one last master class) stuck to their guns and bowled with excellent guile.

The chase stared well with Pidge going out at a run a ball. However when he miss timed one to Mid-on the usual copdock stutter looked set to occur. Enter Chris Warn who able supported again by Jed (cool as cucumber) set about the Walden attack and saw us home with 65.
