Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 30 runs.

Match report A patched up team headed to Bury in some what Autumnal weather, knowing only a win would ensure they retained their Suffolk u15 crown.
Losing the toss the Girls were put into bat on a very damp pitch and with huge boundarys!. The Bury girls bowled well but skipper Aisha and Emma b batted very sensibly, knocking the ball into gaps and running very well between the wickets they added 28 before Emma was bowled, Lucy joined Aisha and these 2 added a further 20 before Lucy was unluckily bowled after the ball trickled back onto her stumps from a forward defensive, Hannah came in fresh from playing a school game and after a tricky start she settled well, Aisha had to retire with the score on 64 having personaly made an excellent and very mature 26. Hannah marshalled the tail well and we ended up on 87, credit to the bury girls who bowled well.
Hannah and Emma gave us a tight start with only 11 runs from the first 4 overs but no early wickets so things remained tense, skipper aisha made trhe break through with one that snuck under the bat, Eleanor then bowled 2 very good overs for just 5 runs, Emma b came back and bowled the dangerous Taylor and then Palmer to make the game pretty safe. Franky then got a wicket helped by a good catch by sophie, moments after an amazing foot stop by the same player! A slightly disappointing total of 35 extras including 26 wides helped Bury to 57 but the girls were comfortable and deserved winners ans thus retailn their crown.
So many people to thank not least dania and sophie for stepping in , Lucy for playing then keeping following a long bus drive back from wiltshire, Stuart for umpiring and as ever all the parents for their excellent support.
