Match report A comfortable win for the Copdock boys, although once it became clear that the outcome was not in doubt (which is often the way with these league matches), it was good to see that standards in all the things we have been doing in training this season (and seasons past) were still maintained, focusing on getting the most out of the team's combined abilities, even without the drive of match pressure.

Fielding first, we started cautiously to save boundaries, but soon moved in tighter when it was clear that runs were not being taken. With Albie behind the stumps, quickly adjusting to the bounce of the artificial wicket, we managed to restrict Yoxford to only 8 runs off the bat and despite extras, the economy was 4 runs an over or less for all the bowlers. Wickets were shared around, with two wickets apiece for Armaan, Henry and George, with a special mention of captain Shlok's particularly miserly figures of 1 for 0 off 3 overs.

Batting was brisk, but controlled, often taking the option to score a boundary, rather than leaving a wide ball. Running and calling was good throughout, save for the solitary run out. Top scorer was Henry with 44 not out off 20 balls, with unbeaten innings of over a run a ball from both Albie and Shlok.

Whilst the result was never in doubt it was very pleasing to see us playing as a team, with everyone giving great support to team-mates, and clearly taking pleasure in others' performances.

Thanks to all those making the long trip up the A12 to support the boys. Whilst the match was not at all close, it's still good to be able to put everything together in a match context.
