Match report A fairly straightforward win against Stowmarket from a superior Copdock team, on a very rare sunny evening, but a good attitude shown by both teams and hopefully everyone enjoyed it.

Losing the toss, we were put into bat and made a lightning quick start, with Will S retiring on 27 not out after 10 balls faced, which set the tone for the rest of the innings with positive scoring throughout (Will D also having to retire 25 not out after 13 balls faced), although being hyper-critical, we need to be quicker in thinking about and calling for the second run when it is available, and there was a disappointing run out down to not trusting the partner's call. We finished our innings on 132-2.

Our bowling was greatly improved over previous outings, with a single no-ball and only 7 wides bowled and everyone bowling at a run a ball or less (including 4 maidens). Wickets were taken by Will S, Teddy, Henry, Oliver and Theo. The fielding was also good, with fielders remembering to walk in, then return to their positions after each ball. I can't even remember any overthrows! Stowmarket ended on 86-8 (including ten runs for their two wickets taken), whilst we boosted our score to 172-8 resulting in a victory by 86 runs.

Overall a very good performance by the Copdock boys, together with a great attitude and concentration on their own performance, which should stand them in good stead when they face much stiffer opposition in the future. Remember, some days you are the dog, some days the lamppost.
