Match report The Eagles first league match of the season turned out to be a fairly easy win against a very inexperienced Stowmarket side, who to their credit kept plugging away in good spirit and hopefully everyone ended up having enjoyed the match.

Despite it being an easy win, the Copdock boys all showed great effort and energy throughout both innings and really looked like a team. Hopefully we can take this into our next match away to Stowupland on Thursday (with six of today's players in the team), who will present much, much stiffer competition (be warned).

Best overall performance for Copdock was by Josh Steyn who batted for more than a run a ball and had very miserly bowling figures. Albie Brunt was our highest scoring batsman (also scoring at more than a run a ball), who also captained the team very well and kept wicket well for nine overs. Finley and Stanley also chipped in with the bat and lead the way with the bowling taking 2 and 3 wickets respectively. Overall, the bowling performance was excellent, well backed up by our fielding positioning and movement.

There will be much more challenging matches ahead, but this was a great start to the season.
