Match report Following a blisteringly hot day, the match was played on a cooler and damper evening. With a shortish boundary and a hard, fast outfield, batters got good value for their shots, with most that missed fielders going over the boundary. In the end, the tie was probably the fairest result, with both teams playing some very good cricket, albeit interspersed of course with the odd fielding howler. Whilst Copdock scored more heavily with the bat (122, with most runs being scored on the second way through the team!), they lost many more wickets.

Our batting was positive and energetic throughout, with most batsman scoring at more than a run a ball (the Super 8's target), aided by quick and clear calling. Top scorer was Frank with 38 off 21 balls, including 7 fours. Bowling wise, the number of extras was reasonable, with particularly miserly bowling from Chris, Jack and Thapas, with a wicket apiece for Jack and Thapas.

I think the one improvement that could be made is in holding our fielding positions, rather than creeping in over time, especially when you've been placed on the boundary to stop a four, that's where you should be, even starting beyond the boundary if necessary. But enough nagging for now; well played everyone.
