Match report Copdock hosted the Mighty Mistley on Saturday at the Copdock Oval. Fatting out Captain John Eek East was unavailable, and after the pre-match arm Wrestle Chris swallow took over. Nose was never likely to win that and gave way rather than risking a broken arm! Copdock were missing all the horrid little school boys as they had a school game. Ben France, having finally scored some runs decided a week off and a make or brake holiday with his partner was the way forward and was therefore unavailable. Copdock had secured the services of Mo Amin to open the bowling, we were all keen to see how he shaped up. Mistley Captain and all round nice guy Manno won the toss and decided to test Copdock's brittle batting line up on a quickly prepared wicket due to the rain. A huge thanks to Shorts who worked his little socks off preparing two tracks!!! Copdock started slowly, with " Pinch Hitter " and all round space cadet Sharpe refusing to play any form of shot, clearly terrified of losing his place.... he's clearly going to be the first one out, so he should have just played as if it was his last game ever!!!!! A return to Felixstowe is on the cards.... Jenko, the house wifes favourite, and Sharpe both made it to 20 before Manning and Moulton struck. Jerv, Nel and Pidge all batted smoothly and chris and Jerv both upped the rate and struck some big sixes...Popey had his pads on from the first over and ended up at 8!!! That made me smile. Nose also got shunted down the order, which would not have happened had he been in charge... Chris needs to watch out if Nose is captain later in the year. Copdock posted 205 and were probably in charge at the half way point. Nel took the new ball with Mo and didn't really live up to the pre-match warm up.... !! Mo however steamed in and zipped it about... he blew away the top order... Griggsy had a interesting death... left a straight one and was bowled half way up middle stump!!! All this after looking so solid.. he has clearly worked on his technique over the winter and I was almost upset I wouldn't get to watch him bat... beautiful!!! Barn door and Manno put up a bit of a fight, why Barn door always get a few against us I'll never know...Eek who was now watching was very disappointed that he did..Jenko bowled him though...to make sure he's near the top of the averages!! Mistley were 100 all out and Mo ended up with 7-46...a steady debut!!!! Ben France..who are you???? When Nose is back and fit to bowl..he may not get in!!!

As always... the future's Bright, the futures Copdock..Roll on Abberton... anyone know where the hell it is????
