Match report On a sunny evening at Copdock

Copdock won the toss and decided to bat first in this quarter final of the cup.

Key points from the game were:

Copdock scored 217 for 2 and Easton 118 for 9.

Copdocks batting was strong throughout, but those that retired were:

William Menzies 29 retired
Kavish Patel 32 not out
Archie Miller 29 retired
Freddie Foyster 25 retired
Ishaan Rakesh 25 retired
Charlie Laws 26 retired

When Copdock bowled generally the bowling was good and
the Copdock's wicket takers were:

Ishaan Rakesh 4 wickets
Charlie Laws 2 wickets
Kavish Patel 2 wickets
Freddie Foyster 1 wicket

Harry Nath, Olly Van Slooten and Archie Miller all bowled well too, without any success on the wicket front.

William Menzies also kept wicket well, with a very good stumping too.

Generally the fielding was good too, in particular Freddie Foysters fielding was of a very high standard, with good ground fielding, a very good diving catch too, however Ollie Van Slooten diving one handed catch, was for me the moment of the game and i will be surprised if we see a better catch than that this season, the team were also well captained by Kavish Patel.

So a good 120 run win and some very good performances on show and we now look forward to the semi final against Melton.

Thank you to Ric Foyster and Jim Menzies for scoring half the game each and for Jim's help in supporting the coaching of the team especially when i was on the field umpiring, thanks also to Rakesh for being on ball watch, for when the lads were hitting the ball into the field.
