Match report
Under 11's Copdock Falcons Super 8 League Match Wednesday 1st May vs Felixstowe Under 11's Match Report

On a Sunny evening at Copdock, in which the under 11s the Falcons team
were playing their first league match of the season. Robin Coe the Falcons Captain won the toss and decided to field.

Felixstowe who were short of 3 players, so they had three Copdock players playing for them, to make up their team, so thanks to William Menzies, Gautham Vijaykumar and Bastian Todd for stepping in at the last minute, to enable the game to be 8 vs 8.

Copdock bowled well throughout with the following figures achieved by:

Coe: 2 wickets for 4 runs in 3 overs.
Charlie Laws: 0 wickets for 13 runs in 2 overs.
Monty McIntyre : 1 wicket for 4 runs in 3 overs.
Harry Neame : 1 wicket for 18 runs in 2 overs.
Jamie Pennington: 1 wicket for 5 runs in 3 overs.
Tom Stanes: 1 wicket for 6 run in 3 overs.
James Taylor : 0 wickets for 13 run in 2 overs.

So well bowled to all, with Monty and Robin doing particularly well both, only conceding 4 runs from each of the 3 overs they bowled.

Also there was some good wicket keeping from Ollie Van Slooten who was keeping for the club for the first time.

Also well down to William Menzies who retired for 21 whilst batting for Felixstowe.

At the end of the Felixstowe innings they had reached 73 off the 18 overs for 6 wickets.

When the Falcons batted Robin and Charlie opened the batting and both retired Robin for 6 and Charlie for 22, and they got the Falcons off to a solid start, Monty and Harry then came to the wicket and both soon fell for 8 and 3 respectively, then Jamie came in and was bowled for 4, James then fell for 2, this then brought Tom and Ollie to the wicket and both recovered the innings well, before Tom fell for 8, Ollie finished 17 not out and Robin returned to end 11 not out, so when the innings closed the Falcons score was on 114 for 6 in their 18 overs, so with the wickets and maidens taken, the Falcons score increased to 141 for 6, and with the wickets and maidens Felixstowe bowled, their score increased to 94 for 6 and therefore the Falcons won by 47 runs.

Well done also to Gautham and Bastian who both bowled two over each for Felixstowe with Gautham taking 1 wicket for 10 runs and Bastian taking 0 wickets, but only conceding 5 runs in his 2 overs, also well done to William who kept wicket well again, with the normal high level glove work.

So thank you to all 11 lads from Copdock for their efforts and performance levels throughout the game and also to the 5 Felixstowe players who tried very hard throughout.

Thank you also to Andy Millions for leading the coaching and the team on the evening, and to Liam Earley for his coaching support and umpiring too, and to Ollie’s mum Emma for her efforts on the scoring as well.

All the best
