Match report on a night when perhaps football dominated thoughts, an exciting game of cricket was played by 16 young people with the game going to the last ball. Fielding first we started sluggishly , and at the half way point ST Margs had 65, but better bowling pulled them back. Bowling Honours to Tom Stanes with 3 overs 4 for 10, well backed up by George Wood with his 3 overs costing just 3 runs, word of congrats also to Kit who kept well in tricky conditions.

Our reply got off to a stuttering start as confusion lead to the skipper being run out, one of a number of situations where poor communication, lack of trust and conviction lead to our downfall, not to selfs to reflect and learn.
Robin came and went without impact and it was left to DJ and George to get things going, which they did nicely until another needless run out when we thought the ball had gone for 4 but it hadnt, we stopped, run out...

Harry and DJ battled hard but at one point seemed paralized to run and the rate slowed up.. Kit batted selflessly and Tom was going nicely until again poor backing up and lack of conviction on running cost him his wicket, albeit with a great direct throw hit..

So we entered the final over 2 ahead which became 6 when George hit the first ball for 4, but then blew it with a poor shot to be bowled all over the place tryng to slog a straight one to Essex!! Harry somehow got through the last 3 balls and we snuck over the line.

Loads of fun but loads to learn about calling, trust and committed running between the wickets.
