Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 10 Wickets

Match report Copdock won the toss and decided to bowl first on the nicely prepared track at Ipswich CC. Oliver Stace (captaining the side) opened the bowling alongside Sam Paisley. Sam removed the danger man Heldreich with a beautifuly bowled yorker and the pressure was immediately on the batting side to regroup and post something decent on the board.

Copdock seemed to lose the initiative and Easton took advantage of some dropped catches and possibly the lack of rotation in the bowlers too??? George Offord and Dan Leggett kept things tight at the end and Easton ended up on 128 off 20 overs which seemed 30 too short baring in mind the short boundaries and lightning fast outfield.

Archie Plant and Dan Leggett opened up the Copdock innings and set about chasing down the total at around 10 an over for the first 6 overs which firmly put us in control. Some controlled big hitting by both saw them retire unbeaten and Oliver Stace and James Whittle saw us home with 5 overs to spare.

Many thanks to Ken Paisley and Andrew Whittle for helping out and to all the parents there supporting the boys. It was a comprehensive and stylish victory well done.
