Match report
After going in for a service on Bank Holiday Monday the Two-saders were keen to get the winbus back on the road as Kelvedon visited the Oval. Ironfist shuffled the pack with Percival and Gravell returning in place of Donald and Ashwin. After the Old 'uns won walking Rugby in the warm up Ironfist delivered with another victory at the toss and the Two-saders were to bat first.

A strong looking batting line had Gravell and Sharpe opening up and soon the inevitable happened. First Gravell hit one straight up in the air and Percival forgetting he had a bat in his hands left every ball bowled at him until finally one clipped of stump. Wickets kept tumbling as Snorey was pinned in front and Thomas chipped to mid off. Desperate to join in the march to the pavilion both Nose and Reuben offered a couple of regulation chances but all 5 of them were grassed and whilst Flopdock were reeling at 60 for 4 things could have been much worse. Eventually Nose found some timing to go with the odd nudge into the off side and Reuben mixed the sublime with the ridiculous with some particularly sumptuous cover drives. Kelvedon switched to spin to stem the flow of runs but soon both Nose and Reuben were celebrating half centuries and looking increasingly confident as they racked up 100 partnership. Perhaps over confidence could be blamed as they fell in quick succession for well made 60 and 76 respectively. From be in trouble things had begun to look pretty rosy but as East holed out to long off the situation became perilous again. Jenkin, as has happened many, many times over the years, took up his usual position in the middle of the collapse and was joined by both Ironfist and Jason. Just Reg held firm, before deliberately getting himself out in the last over to make sure East JR (who'd just scampered back for two) was left on 0* and an entry towards the duck bat.

Talk over tea was that the total of 207 was competitive but short of where we could have been and a good fielding performance was required. Nose and Jason made a steady start will the ball but wickets were difficult to come by as Kelvedon made steady, in unspectacular progress. Nose did manage to get rid of both openers as his spell came towards a conclusion but Kelvedon were still well placed and Parsons and King advanced the score. The gymkhana was brought to an end as Jenkin caught and bowled Parsons but some strong hitting from West and Watts still had Kelevedon handily placed with 10 overs to go. A tactical masterstroke saw Ironfist switch from spin to pace and soon JP had all but wrapped things up with 3 quick wickets alongside two run outs meant Kelvedon imploded to 166 all out with 5 overs remaining. All in all a decent effort, though still some mileage in the tank for further improvements.

Sombrero - JP - second spell turned the game from being balance to a comfy Copdock win

SC Strawberry - Reuben - ducked one at point
