Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 25 runs

Match report On a fab evening, Alex lost the toss and we were put into bat. First pair of Isaac, and Ptomely started well adding 22 with Isaac strong off his legs. Ben and Thomas kept things moving adding 16, Kit and Fin found things tougher but added 4, and Ted and Thomas upped the tempo adding 29, finally skipper Alex shoed his class both in running and calling and hitting the bad ball, and him and James took us up to 310. Would it be enough on a good pitch and fast outfield?
Isaac and Ptomely started well with the ball, and with Issaac bowling one of their batters we kept the opening pair to just 8 runs, good start! Ben struggled to find his best form and with catches being dropped the next pair added 28, game on!.
Fin and Ted tightened things up, Ted getting some fab spin, and with Kit trying hard behind the stumps we build some pressure up, but still kept missing easy run out chances by throwing the ball at the recievers feet!!.
Thomas and James did well in the 4th pair, so it left the final pair needing 39 in win in 4 overs, very doable..
Skipper Alex had other ideas though, and with the field set well and good bowling at the death we won by 25 in the end.
Lots of positives , not least our stopping in the field, backing up, generally bowling and supporting each other, but still loads to work on about calling and running when batting, and how we take run our chances in the field .

Massive thanks to pam for scoring , and so neat, very disappointing no volunteers from a single parent to umpire..
