Copdock won the toss and elected to bat. Some nice batting up front from Jacob on what was a hard fast bouncy pitch. After the fall of Doig and Reddington Dan Leggett helped consolidate and in partnership with first Jacob and then Ollie Stace helped move the total forwards at a quicker pace. After the fall of a few more wickets and the retirement of Stace, Copdock had reached a total of 147 which was maybe 20 or 30 short of where we had wanted to be at the start.

Woolpit openers Bevan and Haynes made sure that they punished anything too full or short and got off to a flyer. On reflection pace off of the ball may have been the option at this stage as the faster we tried to bowl the harder they hit it.

The introduction of Mexome, Leggett, Jermy and Hatcher in short spells mixing their pace up seemed to stem the run flow and move the game back in our favour. Tom Jermy's 4 overs 2 for 16 being the standout figures. Tom bowled particularly well and it would be great if we could use his skills opening next time so we break the opening partnership earlier?

Captain Stace cleverly moved his field back for the last 5 overs and cut off the boundaries. This was an excellent move by him and a positive decision which enabled us to win the game. All in all a good victory and some exciting cricket for the crowd to enjoy.
