Match report A smashing win by the Crusaders to finish the league season on a high!
Batting first, some average bowling and some high quality batting from Archie, Jacob and Mex, meant that we smashed our way to 235 off 20 overs! Archie blasted his second 50 of the tournament, this time off just 17 balls. Archie is now No. 1 in the country for the most sixes (10) hit in the U19t20 competition. Many congratulations to Archie for that achievement. Jacob batted with his usual class and scored his first U19 50 and the Mex batted with complete freedom and regained some confidence in his batting after being hit in the forehead with a bouncer at training earlier on in the season. Between Mex and Searly, the lads increased the score.
With the possibility of Copdock reaching finals day on net run rate, the aim was to restrict Sudbury to as low a total as possible. Only Amos provided any scoring threat as he struck the ball sweetly on his way to 51 but some good line bowling by all, restricted Sudbury to just 127. Ferg bowled very well again, it was a shame the quicker bowlers couldn't have bowled more due to the fading light. We bowled spin in the dark, something Hadleigh did not do last week!!
Another convincing victory with everyone contributing to the cause, its a shame we couldn't replicate the performances against Sudbury when we played Hadleigh.
