Match report The Copdock U13's dominated the match against St. Margaret's just like Australia are dominating at Lords.
Some excellent line and length bowling from Charlie, Jim and Ryan meant that St. Margaret's could barely hit the ball past the fielders. Then Lewis Chapman came onto bowl and tried to demolish the stumps. A great spell of bowling that included 2 wickets in 2 balls and didn't include his variation - a head high full toss at 95mph to keep the batsman moving! Oliver found confidence and his last 2 overs were very good. So overall a very good bowling display limiting them to just 79 off 20 overs, although with some better fielding it could have been even less!
Now with 79 on the board from the first innings the pitch could have been a tough batting pitch but our openers soon made it look like a road. Sound familiar, one team finding it easy to bat on, another struggling...? Lewis Millions and Joe began very positively. Joe looked to hit the boundaries whilst Lewis sensibly rotated the strike. Not before long Joe retired with a brilliant 33 and was joined by Harry. Harry didn't hang around and obviously wanted to get home quickly to watch Essex beat Middlesex on TV as he hit 3 booming 4's which took the team past 80 to win comfortably. Lewis was unlucky not to retire, left stranded on 29*.
Overall a thumping win for the crusaders to finish the season unbeaten. Big well done to all!
