Match report East Bergholt and Copdock U15s met for the second time this season and yet again the match was not a disappointment!

Just like the first meeting between the two teams earlier on in the season, the game went right down to the wire. East Bergholt batted first posting 131 for 9 thanks to a brilliant knock from East Bergholts skipper Jamie McGrath, who scored a respectable 52 not out. Copdock could have found themselves chasing much more if it wasn`t for some well controlled spells of bowling from Sam Williams (3-23) and Henry Hills (3-26), both making the batsman work for every run.

Copdock set about the chase fairly steadily with a solid 28 from Jacob Marston and a positive 51 not out from Jack Mexome. East Bergholt fielded well and strangled Copdock for runs. Copdock found themselves needing a run a ball off of the last few overs and this carried on right up until the last ball of the innings! Copdock needed just one off of the last ball of the game! Joseph Williams took the decision to drop and run, the fielder collected, took aim and struck with a direct hit... Williams took to extreme measures with a disparaging dive, which left it down to the umpire to make the call. It was given not out and Copdock took the points!

It was a great game of cricket all round with solid performances throughout, and was a fantastic advertisement for the game.
