Match report For the second time in less than a week Copdock dismantled a Battisford team in style running out winners by 8 wickets on a glorious summers evening at the Copdock Oval.

Battisford won the toss and eleceted to bat and Copdock's bowlers took full advantage of a well prepared pitch (unlike the 'Cowpen Pudding' we had played on in the away leg) and put the opposition to the sword reducing them to 66 for 9 off the first 14 overs.

Playing with 9 men, Copdock allowed Battisfords star performer Harvey Skinner to return to the crease. Earlier in the innings Skinner had already been dismissed slogging out to Fergus Atkins (caught by Spinner) for 5. With only pride to play for Skinner again slogged out scoring a quickfire 31 adding some respectability to the Battisford score seeing them to 101.

Lewis Chapman (3-0-2-16), James Dines (3-0-1-12) and Andrew Whitehead (4-1-3-15) were the pick of the bowlers as Copdock took a spin dominated approach which Battisford struggled to play. George Baldwin also bowled really well finishing with figures of 2-0-1-6)

Ross Spinner took two dollied catches and Jacob Took another two stumpings to add to an impressive seasons tally behind the stumps.

After drinks, Copdock set about butchering Battisfords bowling attack seeing off the very quick Skinner for 20 runs, 12 of which were in the first over. Ross Spinner and Angus Edmond played the openers well and raced to 52 from the first seven overs before Edmond holed out on 23.

Ross Spinner (Man of the Match) retired on 30 not out including a dreamy 6 straight back over the bowlers head and Jacob Marston and Cahrles Wareham ticked off the winning runs as Copdock eased to victory in the 13th over.
