Match report A very youthful Pheonix travelled to Battisford, and have hard ball league debuts to Jacob Chapman and Alex Dunning. With only 1 year 6 in the side it was good to see so many young players experiencing the future.

Batting first we batted steadily, at times it was hard to hit the ball as bounce was not in great supply, but steady batting, a strong desire not to get out, a boat load of extras, and a couple of boundaries from KJ at the end saw us up to 313.

In reply Battisford started like a train with skipper Arthur smashing the ball everywhere, but after the opening pair runs dried up, and we steadily chipped away. Sadly the "sweetie target" of 13 wides was missed, but young Dunning excelled in his first bowl, and with Ewans progress continuing behind the stumps albeit on a tricky pitch to keep on, a comfortable winning margin of 59 runs was achieved to keep the Phoenix faint hopes of the league alive.
