Match report Copdock U15s B side record there second loss of the season...

Copdock travelled to IES on Monday looking to do the double over the side they narrowly beat earlier on in the season, however this was not meant to be.

IES won the toss and batted first on a very "bowler friendly" wicket, this proved to be a good move as IES batted strong thanks to a hard hitting 42 from the number three O. Beardwood, who's innings consisted of four 4's and two 6's. This gave IES a respectable score of 101 for 7 off of there twenty overs.

For copdock, this looked chase able, however on a tough wicket sensible batting was required. This unfortunately was not shown by the top order! With the score on 50/5 Copdock looked very shaky, however James Bailey was joined at the crease by the youngest member of the side, U13's Dillon Hatcher, who together put on a 30 run partnership. James played very powerfully and drove the ball with great venom, and had the IES fielders ducking for cover! Dillon showed good resilience and played some great shots of his own. Eventually, after a bit of fight, the partnership was ended with both James and Dillon getting out within the space of an over. This left IES to mop up the tail and with a little bit of resilience from Jake Simpson, this was done fairly quickly and Copdock found themselves just coming up short of the target.
