Match report With a very weakened bowling attack Copdock were always going to be up against it playing the high flying Easton team who had only lost one game so far this season and sat nicely at the top of the league. Easton won the toss and decided to bat and did they do a good job of it or what? Cantrell Senior & Junior putting on an opening partnership of 140 off 22 overs. Copdock fought hard in the field trying to pick up wicket by any means. Easton went on to score 317 for 8 off the 45 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Gauke 15-0-81-3,Lewis 10-0-66-2. Special mention for debutante Byron Evans who picked up his first senior wicket nicely caught by his father at square leg.
Copdock went out to bat really trying to pick up batting points rather than the win. As wickets started to fall fast even this task looked beyond them only Stuart Boulter (31) & Chris Sparrow (24)helped them limp to a final total of 143 all out, falling just short of a third batting point.
Another testing game for the new third team, however with players starting to return from exams and school games the only way is up.
