Match report Copdock Rascals turned up at the St Audry's ground, with 11 players (someone obviously didn't reply to their notification e-mail!), but Melton & Achilles had 12 players, so as the sun was shining for a change, we agreed on a 12 Over a side match, aware that this might stretch young concentration levels to the limit!

Copdock got off to a flyer with seven boundaries from our opening pair of Algie and Ben, ably backed up by big scores from Lucas, Ptolemey, Shaanjeal and Xander, for the loss of just one wicket, posting a massive total of 301.

Even after devouring the drinks, sandwiches, cakes and biscuits kindly provided by Melton, Copdock kept their concentration in the field, with one catch and four run-outs, whilst remembering (most of the time!) to clap in the opposition batters. However, most impressive was the bowling, with a special mention deserved for wicket maidens from Shaanjeal and Freddie. In fact so impressive was Freddie's action, that even the home supporters were chanting his name to come on for the extra over!

The inexperienced, but very keen Melton side posted a score of 199, so Copdock won by 102 runs; their biggest win to date. More importantly though, both teams had a great time, playing with smiles on their faces, even when things weren't going their way. The combination of sun and food certainly helped!
