Match report Phoenix got their season off to a wining start with a convincing win over Achilles. Winning the toss and putting Achilles in to bat new Captain Zach Puckey marsahalled his fielding team well skittling Achilles out for 69 in 19 overs.

Some very fine bowling from Henry Hills 4-0-9-4, James Gaffer 4-1-11-2 and Chris Wijnberg 4-1-20-3 backed up by some clean catching and tight fielding throughout the innings set things up for the batsmen.

Phoenix found themselves in a little bit of trouble early on when Puckey and Joe Williams bost feel for 0, however a very mature knock of 29no supported by debutant Joe Potter (15) in his first league game for the club put Phoenix firmly in control. In a sporoted fightback achilees knocked over two more quick wickets before Rob Doig and Bailey Gibbs saw the mome team over the line with 26 balls to spare.

PHOENIX MAN OF THE MATCH could have gone to any number of players but for his batting display in controlling the pace of the innings and setting up a fine run chase - award to ROB DOIG
