Match report In a disappointing end to the season Phoenix went down to a weel organised WoWs by 4 wickets.

Batting first and posting only 81 off their allotted overs Phoenix were always up against it from the off. After only 14 balls the score stood at 3 for 3 with Sam Upson and Oscar Bond both back in the pavilion having failed to trouble the scorers.

Gabriel Watson and Lewis Davies both new to the crease steadied the ship and put together a partnership of 50 before Watson skied a dolly on 29. John Glendinning held up an end scoring slowly but steadily as batsmen came and went and once Lewis and Glendinning had gone the few remaining batsmen struggled to find the gaps.

Defending a small score was always going to be tough but the opening bowlers had WoWs struggling with 3 quick wickets. Despite losing wickets and as Phoenix gambled WoWs maintained a clear run rate, three dropped catches not helping the phoenix cause.

WoWs wickets continued to fall as their batters wobbled but only temporarily as they cruised to a four wicket win with 6.5 overs to spare.

Phoenix Man of the Match was Gabriel Watson for posting 29 and putting a score on the board that gave us something to at least try and defend.
