Match report Kesgrave U13's narrowly edged the IDYL U13 A League Final against Copdock Carnegie at Clay Hall in a tight and hard fought match between two well matched teams.

Losing the toss Carnegie were put into bat and after a slowish start to the innings off some very tight opening bowling, Carnegie Captain Cameron Broom began to ping boundary after boundary eventually retiring on 32 not out. The middle overs saw Carnegie stutter a little before James Gray and Matt Treacy (on A Team debut)built a steady partnership that pushed the score to 110 off the allotted 20 overs.

In a similar start to their innings Kesgrave openers Sam Dixey and Josh Cantrell started slowly but then picked up the pace as the run rate started to climb. Sam Dixey fell to some really tight Jack Spinner bowling and Josh Cantrell retired on 30 not out.

Tom Stollery stepped out to the crease after the fall of Danny McCalls wicket and steadily built a score despite the loss of wickets at the other end to eventually knock off the remaining 5 runs with two balls to spare in the final over.
