Match report The Girls made the short trip to Bourne Vale to play our friends from Achillees and welcomed Anna Bailey making her debut for the club. Batting fist we made our normal explosive start with Emily and Willow scoring at well over 10 an over, willow being first in the hutch, good batting from Olivia and Fleur kept the scoreboard moving but we got a bit stuck at the end as the Achillees girls fought back, a good total of 153 from our 16 overs.
A eventfull first over saw Venetia bowl star batter plum, sadly with a no ball, then saw her dropped by sister behind the stumps, unlucky Olivia, Plum made us pay by batting through and scoring a good 27. Debutant Anna got the first wicket, a good catch behind by Olivia, and skipper emily bowled 3 maidens and took one wicket. sadly the wides issue still blights us, more work in training girls, and this boosted the Achillees total to 86 so a comfortable win by 77 runs.
A special mention for willow in the field, truly outstanding in terms of energy and reading of the game, an example for all others to follow, well done the girls.
