Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 45 runs

Match report On a warmerthan anticipated may evening the Moles began their 2011 campaign by welcoming a young easton side to Copdck. Lead by the experienced Emily D, but featuring 3 girls playing their first ever game, copdock won the toss and elected to bat. Emily gave us the normal explosive start and was soon retired in the hutch, willow kept up the rate and hit the nights only 6!!, olivia then took up the assault as the runs flowed. All the team got a bat and well done to those on debut for all maing some runs. The young Easton side bowled well and some of the fielding, notably Jo jo, was outstanding. Final total 109 in 12 overs.

Bowling wise we never quite got going, whilst the young batters struggled to hit the ball our bowling was wayward to say the least, and it was left to debutant Alice to take the first wicket. young dania showed the others the way and bowled very well, and with the promise of cakes Venetia finished the game with a wicket last ball.

So a win by 45 runs, but much tougher games will follow and our bowling and fielding will need to improve if we are to continue to win.
