Match report IES got back to winning ways after narrowly losing out to the same opposition a week earlier.

Losing the toss and being put into bat, Phoenix got off to a bit of a flyer posting 28 before the first wicket and 53 for the fall of the second wicket with Oscar Gravell scoring well.

In the middle overs the run rate slowed as the batsmen failed to find the gaps in the field. Oscar Bond scored steadily retiring on 31 not out off 36 balls to wrestle back the initiative before a flurry of wickets fell in the 80's and 90's. By the end of the alloted overs Phoenix had posted 124 - the general feel being that this was probably about ten to fifteen short.

In an almost carbon copy opening of the game a week previous Chowdhury fired an assured 31 retiring not out and despite a couple of early breakthroughs (Lewis clean bowling Burman) and J Martin trapping another IES dangerman Miah LBW), IES looked set to chase down the runs.

In a similar pattern to the Copdock innings IES struggled in the middle overs before a burst of accurate bowling from Joe Martin knocked back the stumps of Cauldwell followed by a next ball duck for Galloway(caught Bond). Wickets continued to tumble and as the last four overs got underway IES needed 24.

Phoenix held their nerve after a shaky over from Bull to take a further three wickets to finish four runs clear of a spirited fightback by their opponents.
