Match report A fairly straightforward win for the Copdock Seven (thanks to Harrison for stepping in after two of our players failed to turn up).

After winning the toss and bowling first (of course: new ball and psychological advantage of already having runs on the board when we start batting), after seeing off their best batters at the top of the order, Will was the first to strike in what became a procession of wickets, with Gabriel returning the best figures of 4 wickets for 18 runs, followed by Will with 3 wickets for only 4 runs. There were wickets also for Henry and Albie, whilst Finlay gave a great performance behind the stumps shipping only a single bye.

By the time Copdock started their batting, the result was almost in the bag, but we played confidently and (in the most part) sensibly, amassing a total of 170 runs, which with the 45 runs from our wickets in the first innings, made a total of 215: a victory by 107 runs. Top scorer was Will with 52 runs off just 18 balls ( a new U11 record and homing in on the all time record of 52 off 16 balls in an U15 match). Everyone else chipped in with confident performances, scoring at a more than a run a ball.

A good performance from all our players, but for those playing in the return fixture at Hadleigh this Wednesday, which is an 11-a-side match, the opposition is likely to be much stronger.
