Match report Great effort and focus from all players, despite the bitter cold. Although the two sides were fairly evenly matched on runs off the bat, unfortunately the match turned out to be fairly one-sided with the Lions falling to an avalanche of wickets against the superior Phoenix bowling.

Special mention for batting to James Palmer, Oscar Taylor and Jack Hart who all reached the Super 8's target of a run a ball, with strong performances also from Finley Grimwood, Chris Sloper, Griff Fletcher and George Utley. On the bowling side, Chris Sloper came out top of the stats with a hatrick and a triple wicket maiden, whilst there was good economical bowling from James Palmer, Leon Webster, Brendan Francis and Sam Shukla. There was also good work behind the stumps from George Utley and Rocco Huntley on debut, whilst in general, fielding was focused and energetic.
