Match Report

On a Sunny evening at Copdock, in which the under 11s Cardinals team
were playing their second league match of the season, the Cardinals captain Kavish Patel won the toss and decided to bat.

When the Copdock Cardinal’s batted there was some good batting throughout, with both Kavish and Ishaan Rakesh both retiring for 25 each. Then Harry Nath was bowled for 6, Tait Ferguson retired after his 20 balls for 16, Archie Lawson was run out for 9 and Henry Lamb run out for 9 as well, then William Burton was not out for 14 and Gautham Vijayakumar not out 6

So a good all round batting display and at the end of their 18 overs the Cardinal’s had scored 154 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

When the Cardinals bowled there was some good bowling from all, with Kavish being the star bowler taking 3 wickets and all the bowling figures were.

Kavish bowled 2 overs 6 runs for 3 wickets.
Tait bowled 2 overs 6 runs for 1 wicket.
Archie bowled 3 overs 12 runs for 1 wicket.
Gautham bowled 3 overs 15 runs for 0 wickets.
Henry bowled 3 overs 21 runs for 0 wickets.
Ishaan bowled 2 overs 8 runs for 0 wickets.
William bowled 3 overs 10 runs for 0 wickets.

There was also 1 run out.

Also Harry kept wicket well throughout the 18 overs.

Overall fielding was good, but there is still lots of room for improvement in many areas of fielding over the weeks ahead.

At the end of Hadleigh’s 18 overs they achieved 82 runs, for the loss of 6 wickets, so after adding 3 runs for each wicket taken by both teams Cardinals score went up to 172 and Hadleigh’s up to 94 and therefore the Cardinal’s’ had won by 78 runs.

A good team performance from all the boys and we look forward to our next training session on Sunday and further games in June.
