Match report On a chilly Sunday morning at Copdock, the Suffolk under 10’s team won the toss and decided to bat, with three of this seasons Copdock Cardinal squad, Freddie Foyster, Archie Magnus and Henry Clark, all representing the under 10’s county team in this match and hence playing against their club team mates and all three performing well for their county.
Suffolk batted steadily, against some good and accurate Cardinals bowling and made 113 for 4 from their twenty overs, with the 4 wickets dismissed by the Cardinal’s bowlers being taken by, 2 for Lucas Howard, with him also bowling very accurately too and only conceding 3 runs in his two overs bowled and also a wicket each for Henry Procter and Shaanjeai Tharaneetharan too and there was also some very accurate bowling from four other bowlers as well, with not many runs being conceded, from their overs, by Oliver Carr, James Fishendern, Louis Hembry and Hugo Lloyd.
The Cardinals ground fielding was also very good, in particular from Dylan Patel and Luca Gonzalez Janes.
However a couple of catches went to ground and a few too many wides, no balls and byes were conceded too and these are all things for the team to work on over the coming weeks. But at the end of the innings the Cardinals were pleased to restrict Suffolk to just 113.
In reply Cardinals batted very well and chased down the total with still 7 overs to spare and only lost two wickets in doing so, with both Shaanjeai Tharaneetharan and Dylan Patel batting very well and both retiring once the reached 25 each and with Harrison Strand also batting well and carrying his bat throughout the innings for 16 not out and Henry Procter contributing a quick fire 16 not out as well, the target was safely achieved.
So overall a good team effort, by all 12 of the Cardinal lads and we now look forward to our next game on the 18th of May.
