Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won By 114 runs

Match report
On a very sunny Thursday evening, at IES cricket club, the Copdock Cardinals lost the toss and were put into bat.
Copdock started their innings very well, with both the opening batsmen, Shaanjeai Tharaneetharan, 24, and Lucas Howard, 26, retired, putting on a 50 partnership, in the first 7 overs, before Tharaneetharan was out, Ollie Carr then hit a couple of good leg side fours and made a quick 15, before he was run out, and then Achie Magnus kept the inning progressing well, making a good, 25, before he also retired, Henry Clarke ran well between the wickets and made a quick 14, Samuel Slatter, 2 and James Fishenden,1, both went cheaply, but gave up their wickets in the chase for quick runs, with Luca Gonzalez-Janes, finishing 4 not out, and this all helped the Cardinals finish strongly and reach a good score of 138-5, at the end of their 20 overs.
When IES batted, the Cardinal bowlers took total control from the start, with some very good bowling from all, with the Cardinals bowling IES all out for just 24, with the ten wickets being shared around the team with, Freddie Foyster taking 2, and one wicket each for, Magnus, Tharaneetharan, Slatter, Thomas Liddy, and then a special mention must go to Howard, who with a direct hit, ran out one of the IES batsmen, and then the other three wickets were also taken by Howard, but this time with his bowling, with him taking these three wickets with a hat trick, he also took a catch, to round of a very good evening for him personally, there was also two catches taken by Hugo Lloyd, with one of his catches being a really good one, taking it low to the ground, diving to his right,
So in the end IES were all out, in the eleventh over, for just 24, this meant the Cardinals ended up winning the game by 114 runs.
A very good overall team performance from the Cardinals, with all areas of the game noticeably improving from previous performances.
Lucas Howard takes the Cardinals man of the match performance, for his strong all round display, including his hat trick.
