A table topping clash arranged for some unknown reason on a bank holiday as the Two-saders welcomed Ipswich to the Oval. Having won walking football Graham duly won the toss too and elected to bat. In a changed batting line up Snorey and Sharpe opened the batting. They were faced by some solid, disciplined bowling (along with one incredibly suspect action) and on a good pitch built a solid platform, though when Reuben fell for a well crafted 37 the rate began to falter as Mlambo got himself settled. As Donald began to up the ante he fell to a catch in the deep, and so too did Kaarl for a solid half century. Despite the difficulties Flopdock were still pretty well placed at 135 for 3 wit 10 overs to go. However as Thomas fell to a generous LBW the wickets began to tumble with Nose, Hollis, Jenkin out looking to push on. Eventually Copdock limped to 188 for 8, with even East JR only amassing a 50% strike rate.


The game looked even poised at tea but soon Ipswich were pushing ahead as Ipswich Captain Rusby and senior pro Hammond negotiated the new ball. Rusby fell to a wild slash at Bhatt but ex Copdock player Burch was soon pushing the rate along with Hammond. When Hammond fell courtesy of some poor running an opportunity appear for Flopdock but it was not to be taken. Burch was spared 5 times between 25 and 40 and despite a late rally Ipswich got over the line. After a good fielding performance against Copford a poor effort on the bank holiday against local rivals Ipswich.
