Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Under 13 Crusaders v FandCY U13 on Fri 13 May 2016 at 6pm
Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Lost By 9 wickets

Match report On a very cold evening at Copdock, in which the under 13's Crusaders team
were playing their first league match of the season, the away team
Felixstowe & Corinthians won the toss and decided to field.

Chris Dunning & Ewan Green got the Crusaders off to a good start scoring 14
of the first two overs, before Dunning was caught and bowled, Max Dawson
then came in & played a couple of good shots for 4, before he was bowled,
Green continued to bat well at the other end, however then two quick wickets
with both Henry Williams & Jed Cooper being bowled, left the Crusaders at 40
for 4, at this point Seb Hembry joined Green and these two batted well
together before Green had to retire having reached a well compiled 31,
Cameron Towers then joined Hembry and the pair went on to put on the best
partnership of the innings with Towers retiring on 30, hitting 7 fours
during this innings and Hembry eventually bowled for a well compiled
18 in his first match for the club, some good contributions down the order
from Aryan Bhagat, who finished not out and from George Quinton who was
bowled off the last ball of the innings, left the Crusaders on 122-7 at the
end of their innings.

F & C started their innings well and despite some good accurate bowling from
Ben Tweedy and Bhagat the away side reached 21-0 of the first 4 overs, the
introduction of Mathew Wilson and Towers enabled the away team to continue
to progress steadily and reached 75-0, before their first batsmen retired,
at this point Towers took the Crusaders only wicket of the innings clean
bowling the new batsmen, F & C continued to bat well against the bowling of
Quinton, Williams and the returning Tweedy and Baghat and although the
Crusaders managed to keep things reasonably tight, F & C won the match with
3 balls to spare, reaching 123-1.

Well done to all the lads for their efforts in a very well contested game - Mark Raven
