Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club Won by 7 wickets

Match report
With the winbus parked up at the Oval on a glorious afternoon, old foes Coggy rolled into town on National Reuben Sharpe Day.
With the days Patron Saint making a personal appearance at the Vatican so his Holiness could bask in Reuben's reflected glory, Flopdock welcomed back Old GOAT East and saw 'Extra Travel' Tyler snapped up by the firsts.
Having put in arguably the worst performance of the year in the early season reversal at Harefields, Flopdock were keen to put things right in the bright sunshine. Having been embarrassed in the warm up by a deft Thomas flick, Ironfist strode out to the middle for his one task of the day - the toss.
Having won a few recently the team were expecting Ironfist to come up trumps. However, in a feeling Sue is undoubtedly familiar with, we were all left disappointed in Grahams performance as he failed to live up to expectations.

With Flopdock dragging themselves out into the field East (Older, thinner) surprisingly decided to bowl up the hill and allow the quicker, younger, more spritely Bailey flow down the hill. A compact start from East and probing accuracy from Bailey meant Coggy got away to a steady, if unspectacular start and as Ironfist turned to spin twins East (younger, more naturally athletic) and housewives favourite Jenko a long day in the sun looked to be in the offing. At first drinks Coggy were 53 for 0 wickets but East and Jenko were threatening to apply the brakes. The only chance so far a botched run out attempt where the usually spectacular Gravell showed the effects of the late night he'd undoubtedly survived and hurled a wayward throw towards Thomas, whose Iron Gloves were unable to collect and whip the bails off. Eventually Green came unstuck and chipped to long off where Jazz Mexome snaffled a beauty. As Jenkin and East turned the screw wickets fell and the run rate faltered. Coggy briefly offered some resistance but the inspired introduction of Fergus and some revolutionary fielding positions saw Coggy batsmen departing regularly with even Lesiak falling for a hard earned 59 in the penultimate over.

Talk over a posh sandwich tea was that 159 was around 100 short and that half a job had been well done. Gravell and Storey were sent out to bat after a motivational oration from Ironfist. Kaarl Drogo Storey particularly fired up after last weeks outrageous demotion and keen to collect his eighth half century in eight innings. It was Gravell fastest out of the blocks however. With a glorious array of flowing drives, elegant legside clips and thunderous cuts Gravell was soon up to 50 and threatening to stop the Run Machine Storey reaching his landmark! Briefly Kaarl also put his foot down but was pleased to see Gravell throw it away when he reached 74 and likewise Jazz Mexome after he reached a rapid 18. When the weak hitting Nose strolled the crease Kaarl eased past 50 before sacrificing a red inker in the hope of getting Thomas into the duck bat reckoning, which he duly delivered with a 0*.

Ultimately some good batting to go with some good bowling and largely good fielding resulted in a comfortable victory. Next week sees firsts (Flopdock) vs second in the table (Kelvedon).

Sombrero - Ferg for his first four wickets for the Two's (after Gravell sent it to deadlock)
Fez - Gravell for the non run out

and the New Jazz Hat Award - Hugh Thomas, pretty self explanatory.
