Match report The Dragons Up and Running

At last, the first U11 match of the season! After two rain call-offs, the Dragons played their first 2015 match at a sunny Copdock on Tuesday night. Mindful that it was SATs week for year 6’s, both teams fielded predominantly Year 5 sides, although amongst that Copdock boasted four County players and turned out to be by far the stronger side. However, although it was a comprehensive victory for the home team, the match was played in an excellent spirit throughout, with our captain Will Stace leading the way by example. The Felixstowe fielding was certainly sharp and we will have to call and run much better if we are to succeed against stronger teams later in the season.

Amongst an excellent all round effort, there were standout performances for the Dragons by Kajeai and Isaac Toombs with the bat, Thomas King and that man Isaac again with the ball and also Siva (Kajeai’s mum) with the pen; putting her newly found scoring skills into action.
