Match report Copdock Carnegie racked up their first win of the season at the third attempt chasing down a stiffish total set by East Bergholt in just 15.1 overs, however the win wasn't as easy as the margin might suggest.

Losing the toss and being asked to field Carnegie's bowlers struggled to break the opening partnership of McGrath and Abrahams and it wasn't until the 14th over that a breakthrough was achieved off the second spell of bowling from Toryn Whitehead. Bergholt were 74 for 1, McGrath having retired on 32*.

With the two openers gone East Bergholt began to struggle as finally the Copdock fielders bgan to exert a sustained period of pressure. Sam Williams picked up two wickets in consectuive balls and some suicidal running between the wickets saw Copdock bag another couple of wickets via run outs in the last two overs. Had there been a bit more depth to Bergholts batting Copdock could have been facing a three figure total run chase.

Chasing 95 to win at just under 6 an over, Knights and Bond got Carnegie off to a steady start before a risky single saw Bond run out on 14. Donald Mlambo smashed a rapid 30 not out off just 12 balls including six 4's all around the wicket. With ten overs down Copdock had reached 64 reducing the run rate to just 3 r.p.o.

In a further 5.1 overs Copdock secured the win with Josh Bull hitting the winning boundary but not before losing a further four wickets to some over-ambitious hacks across the line as batsman after batsmen wanted to be the one to hit the winning runs.

Throughout the 15 overs Carnegie had been lending a fielder to the opposition. Of all the wickets that fell Copdock fielders took four catches and one run out!!!!
