Match report In the penultimate end of season friendly Carnegie tipped up at FandCy on the cusp of a mini-heatwave. With temperatures in the low 30's Carnegie stepped out to bat first in a two innings match.

Despite the early loss of Cameron Morrison to a dollied catch straight back to the bowler some fine batting by Tom Borrett saw Carnegie off to a solid start ably supported by some ferocious (if at times scary!!!) batting by Jack Spinner.

After 15 overs the innigs closed with Carnegie on a very respectable 97 for 2.

A quick drinks break was followed by FandCys opening innings and in similar fashion to Carnegies innings two batsmen (Boty and Rose) dominated the bowlers before falling in consecutive overs to the same fielder - Kieran Turner.

The following batsmen never really got away from some decent Carnegie bowling as regular bowlers returned for their second over spell but the second innings was set up for a nailbiter as FandCY posted 94 off their 15 overs.

A fabulous tea interval saw both teams batting orders reversed and 12 and 11 (Angus Bissett and U11 player Ross Spinner) opening for Carnegie. The first over was a tight maiden followed by the wicket of Bissett. Joe Martin came to the crease and young Ross Spinner unleashed a fantastic spell of batting scoring 12 in one over befor ehis batting partner got a Shane Warne like ball which just before being called a leg side wide spat back to take top of leg stump.

Spinner continued to bat freely supported by Charlie Lewis before falling on 21 whereupon Charlie Lewis took up the dominant batsman role and creamed shot after shot to both sides of the wicket. Retirng on 31 not out, Josh Bull, Kieran Turner and Oscar Bull all contributed to post a second innings lead of 120. FandCy faced an 8 runs an over run-chase.

As the temperature rose at Dellwood Avenue, so did the tempo of the match. Will Oxbrow despatched the FandCY openere and the replacement batsmen in his first over piling the pressure on a young batting line up.

Reeves restored some semblance of order to the FandCY innings batting calmly and collectively but regular wickets continued to tumble as they chased an ever increasing run rate. Great ground fielding by Carnegie secured another two run-outs - something the team has become reknowned for all season.

Reeves retired on 32 after a fine knock and although Kelly did his best to carry the innings it was always an uphill task - FandCY finally closing 39 runs short.

Man of the Match for Carnegie was Will Oxbrow although fine knocks by Tom Borrett, Charlie Lewis and Ross Spinner set up the match nicely.
