Match report Phoenix's winning streak came to an end as they met up with a strong IES side. Putting the visitors into bat, the IES openers raced off to strong start posting 40+ before the first wicket fell trapped LBW by Joe Martin.

Some tighter bowling by the first change bowlers tightened the run rate a little before the IES No3 batsmen began to pick off the runs finding the gaps with little trouble.

As the No3 retired on 30 not out a three more wickets fell to some outstanding fielding including a run out from Kieran Turner, Matt Treacy and a dollyed catch by Will Oxbrow off Charlie Lewis.

Once again an IES batsman steadied their ship posting 22 before being bolwed by Lewis.

A tough run chase ensued and an early wicket fell before Oscar Bond stepped up to the crease. After a steady start Oscar began to inject some urgency into the batting and found a few boundaries.

Cameron Morrison was bowled which brought Will Oxbrow to the crease. With seven overs to go and almost 70 runs to chase down Will and Oscar put IES to the sword with some fine running and superb boundary shots. Oscar retired on 32 not out, his parting shot a fine four to the covers and although Will Oxbrow continued to play his shots he began to run out of balls and partners. As he retired on 33 no, Phoenix still needed 21 off 9 balls.
