Match report Having lost in the Last 16 of the U13 National Cup, East Woodhay were the opposition for the 3rd/4th play-off. Reduced to 15 overs a side, Copdock won the toss and batted first.

Louis was bowled in the first over but Charlie & Xander batted sensibly to see off the East Woodhay opening bowlers. Once the second change bowlers came on to bowl, Charlie now batting with Shaanjeai rotated the strike well and dismissed any bad balls to the boundary. Charlie retired on 30 for the second time in the day. Freddie tried to increase the run rate as Shaanjeai got to 30 and retired. Lucas, Frank & Jevon also tried to increase the total towards the end of the innings as Copdock finished on 104.

The East Woodhay opening partnership was quickly broken as Shaanjeai had the opener Weston caught. The No.3 Seb retired on 30 as other supported him which looked like Copdock were going to lose, however, Arthur & Lucas came onto bowl and increased the required run rate with tight bowling and 2 wickets apiece. Shaanjeai bowled a very good penultimate over conceding only 4 runs, leaving Charlie to defend 11 off the last. Some good running and indifferent fielding meant East Woodhay needed 3 off the last ball. The batsman missed the ball and ran a bye through to Jevon meaning Copdock won by 1 run and finishing 3rd in the London & East Region of the U13 National Cup.

A top effort by all the 12 players who travelled, the whole club is very proud of their achievements this year. A massive thanks to Peter Cannon for scoring both games and to all of the parents who travelled to support the side in the less than ideal weather conditions!
