Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club - Fundraising

Project Fundraising

It is anticipated that, including VAT, the cost of  phase 2 of the project  will be around £140,000.

To raise this money we are inevitably relying heavily on the support of a number of local and national grant providers. However, obtaining grant money is hugely competitive and it is unrealistic to think we can raise all the money from grants. In addition, by committing to a significant proportion of the cost it provides clear evidence that the “users and beneficiaries” are 100% committed to the project. This is crucial in all grant applications.

The Cricket Club has therefore pledged £50,000 to the project. We recognise this is a huge commitment and all of this money will need to come from a range of fundraising events and initiatives.

Our core fundraising initiative is the “Sponsor a Brick” scheme. This allows individuals or organisations to make a donation in return for permanent recognition on “The Wall of Bricks” to be displayed in the lobby of the new building (see below).

As of 8th March, 2016 we have support for 113 bricks and raised £24640 . If you would like to donate in this way please click here to access the pledge form. We request that all pledges are paid within 90 days.

Please note that all funds committed to “Sponsor a Brick” will be held in a reserve account. Should, for any reason, the project not proceed you will be offered your money back in full.

To supplement this scheme we will continuing to run fundraising events throughout 2016. The first of these will be the annual quiz on Friday 22nd April. More information on future events will be released shortly...

Inevitably a fundraising campaign of this nature does incur some costs (design, printing, website etc.). However, the vast majority of this work has now been completed and thanks to the generous support of those involved we have been able to keep these costs to an absolute minimum. All of these costs have been met from existing Club reserves, essentially as a loan to the project, and will be replaced through our fundraising activities. The figures below therefore illustrate our net position to date:
