Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club

Ladies & Girls Section

A Brief History

Ladies cricket was established at Copdock & OI CC in 2007. Since then the ladies teams have enjoyed much success. The ladies T20 team have won the league title three times in 2014, 2016 & 2021 respectively. The Club continues to increase coaching provision and playing opportunities for its ladies and girls members with numbers continuing to rise each year.

Playing Opportunities

Copdock & OI CC Ladies Section play three different formats to suit both experienced and developing players. With three hardball sides, experienced players can play both 20-over cricket in the Two Counties League and 40-over cricket in the Women's East Anglian Premier League.

The Club also offers Soft Ball cricket for new and emerging players. Soft Ball festivals are run on midweek evenings during the Summer. This shorter format provides an exciting and competitive experience for all participants in a social and inclusive surround.

These options provide every player with the choice of formats enabling an enjoyable and worthwhile match experience.

Coaching Provision

The Ladies teams, as well as our U15 and U13 teams, have sole use of the club ground every Tuesday evening from 6-8pm during the season. With the membership and playing standard continuing to rise, this facility use affords every group with access to high quality training and provision.

Training is led by an experienced group of club coaches, all of whom possess great knowledge of the game and put enjoyment and player development at the fore of every session.

For 2023, the training programme will be delivered by Ladies Head Coach, Sam Bennett-King (St Joseph's College) and Club Pro, Sam Arthurton (Norfolk CCC captain).
