With its roots in the villages of Copdock and Washbrook, Copdock Cricket Club was founded in 1839 and merged with the Old Ipswichians in 1997. It is now is now one of the largest and most successful Clubs in the area. We run three senior mens teams, two Ladies teams and a junior section that sets the standard for junior cricket in Suffolk and beyond.
The 1st XI compete in the elite East Anglian Premier League, representing the highest standard of club cricket it is possible to play. In 2024 our 2nd XI will be competing in Division Two of the Two Counties Championship, and our 3rd XI in Division Seven. The Sunday XI will be competing in the Hunts County Bats League in Division One after four consecutive promotions, whilst a Development XI will compete in Division Five, continuing to bridge the gap between Junior & Senior Cricket. The Ladies 1st XI will compete in the Women's EAPL, supported by two further Ladies T20 teams.
Often described as the "jewel in our crown" is our phenomenal Junior Section. Having been one of the first clubs in the county to achieve ECB Clubmark accreditation and a Focus club for Suffolk, 2024 will see over 300 young cricketers playing and practising cricket as members of the Club this season.
All this is set in a wonderful ground which now has facilities that are the envy of most in Suffolk cricket. A playing surface fit to stage regular prestige fixtures and a clubhouse set in the landscape of a village setting is a joy to behold.
